Watch Botswana’s President React to 2,492-Carat Diamond, the Second-Largest Diamond Ever Found

Botswana is the second-largest producer of natural diamonds globally, and yet, that doesn't stop them from being surprised about the precious stones that pop up in the country. Recently, the largest diamond found in more than a century, and the second largest of all time, was unearthed at a mine in Botswana. To present it to the world, a viewing ceremony led by Botswana's president Mokgweetsi Masisi was thrown. The diamond turned out to be so massive that the politician's baffled reaction caused as much commotion as the stone itself.

Not expecting the hefty weight of the stone, the president closed his eyes and his palms out to hold the diamond. The stone was then gently dropped into his hands, which caught the president by surprise. Masisi opened his eyes to see the diamond, expressing an animated, “What?!” and growing increasingly bewildered.

“It is overwhelming,” Masisi said. “I am lucky to have seen it in my time.” He then took a better look at it with the help of magnifying glasses.

The huge 2,492-carat diamond weighs approximately half a kilogram (a little over 1 pound) and is yet to be named.  The discovery was announced by Canadian mining company Lucara Diamond Corp, which found the rough diamond from its Karowe Mine in central Botswana. Lucara said the “high-quality” stone was located using X-ray technology designed to find large, high-value diamonds.

Officials said it was too early to value the stone or decide how it would be sold. It is one of a handful of massive diamonds found in Botswana in recent years, which includes a smaller diamond unearthed at the same mine that was sold for $63 million in 2016. Overall, diamonds account for well over half the financial value of Botswana's total exports.

The record for the largest diamond ever found belongs to the 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond found in South Africa in 1905. It was then turned into 105 stones of assorted cuts. Since Botswana's reserves are far from depleted, a new diamond that could break the record is an exciting and perennial possibility.

The second largest diamond ever found was recently unearthed at a mine in Botswana, and president Mokgweetsi Masisi had the best reaction to seeing it in person.

In February 2024, the Gonzalez family threw a party to celebrate Valentine's Day. There were matching pink t-shirts, a wall filled with heart-shaped balloon, and games to pass the time. They split the guests into two groups—men and women—aiming to see which gender would do best in each task. When it came time for a hula hoop challenge, the results were clear. And now, the video of the moment has gone viral, sparking a debate about “male vs. female intelligence.”

The game is simple. The group has to pass through a hula hoop, from one person onto the next, until the last teammate has released the hoop. They stand hand in hand, except for those on the edges, meaning they are at the mercy of their bodies to move the hula hoop along. Whoever finishes the challenge in the shortest amount of time wins.

The Gonzalezes had the men go first. They really struggled to pass the hula hoop from one person to the next, relying on awkward little jumps and bumps—the fact that it didn't cause anyone to fall down is sheer luck. When it was the women's turn, a clever display of strategy and teamwork unfolded. The first woman went through the hoop and held it for all the other women to cross through while holding hands. In the video, a man can be heard shouting, “What is this? That's not fair,” but the damage is done.  The endeavor took the men 32 seconds; the women did it in almost half the time—17 seconds.

The Miami-based family shared their findings with the world. While some have taken the video as proof that women are smarter than men, the family has leaned into the humor of it, replying with laughing emojis to comments such as, “That's how quickly we decipher the inconveniences and make them convenient.”

LinkedIn can be useful for finding a job or hiring people, but hardly anyone would consider it a fun place to hang out. Luckily, with a little bit of creativity, the social media site designated for professional networking can actually be a source of amusement. This seems to be the driving force behind LinkedIn Lyrics, a TikTok account that turns names found on the platform into the words of popular songs. Or as they say, “We turn resumes into remixes.”

The concept is simple yet incredibly funny. Song lyrics are written out on the screen using the names of users found on LinkedIn. Of course, they’re not spelled the way the lyrics originally were. For instance, the Red Hot Chili Peppers song “Otherside” contains the lyrics, “How long, how long will I slide? / Separate my side, I don’t” On the screen, though, we see the profile names “Hao Long, Hao Long, Will Isley / Seppe Raes, Mae Saeed, Hai Dong.”

The bit is elevated by the fact that each name is accompanied by their profile picture in which they look very professional, whether it be with a big corporate smile or a serious stare into the camera. The creators even find matching names for parts of the song that are vocalizations or hummed. No one is safe. Through these videos we see investors, executives, athletes, architects, managers, and officers from all around the world.

The creators are open to all music genres too. So far they've experimented with rock anthems such as Queen's “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Blink-182's “All the Small Things,” with their most successful video so far being that of Red Hot Chili Peppers' “Otherside.” But they also have a pop edge, and have found names to fit the lyrics for Lady Gaga's “Bad Romance” and Taylor Swift's “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

To stay up to date with their videos, make sure to follow them on TikTok. Who knows? Maybe your name fits one of your favorite song's lyrics and you'll do a professional cameo in their next video.

When watching the Olympics, it's hard not to be wowed by the talents of the athletes. The games are often the culmination of a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication. But for every athlete who ends up in the Olympics, there are hundreds more who try their hardest but simply don't make the cut. And this topic, taken to the extreme, is the newest viral trend on TikTok.

Amateur athletes are posting their “announcements” about not making the Paris 2024 Games with videos of their most epic sporting fails. From belly-flopping divers to wobbly gymnasts, the videos are a self-deprecating look at the realities of sport. At the same time, they also put into clear view just how difficult and rare it is to perform at the highest level, giving new appreciation to the likes of Simone Biles and Noah Lyles.

With one video racking up over 87 million views, Olympic fever is really taking hold. Many of the videos are backed by the Olympic Theme or the Star Spangled Banner (Bass Boosted), for an added touch. Overall, the viral trend is a fun way to poke fun at our own athletic exploits while reminding us that the Olympic medal winners make their respective disciplines look deceivingly easy.

So, if you are ready for a laugh, take a look at some amateur athletes who didn't make the cut. And who knows, there are still four years to train for the Los Angeles Games, so maybe we'll see them in 2028.

Cats and dogs are often seen as sworn enemies, but despite their hilarious antics and infamous squabbles, they can sometimes surprise us by becoming the best of frenemies. One pet pair perfectly illustrated this in a video shared by their owner. Using GPS trackers by Tractive, the pet owner traced the live location of both pets to show how his cat secretly follows him and the dog every time they go for a walk.

The video shows a satellite view of both pets’ paths, revealing that while the dog loyally followed its owner on the sidewalk, the cat—secretly eager to join in—took a winding route through the bushes, stealthily trailing behind to avoid detection. Perhaps the cat is following them out of curiosity, or maybe it just wants to stay close to its family, while maintaining a cool, distant facade. Either way, the video just goes to show that maybe cats aren’t so unpredictable after all.

While the video is a heartwarming reminder of how cats and dogs can be friends, some Redditors have pointed out that letting your cat roam outside might not be so great for local wildlife. If you have a cat and want to let them explore outdoors, it's a good idea to equip them with a bell. This gives birds and other small animals a better chance to escape from these natural-born hunters.

Check out the video below, and if you're curious about tracking your own pets' adventures, head over to the Tractive website to see how it’s done.

A pet owner put Tractive GPS trackers on his cat and dog. While on a dog walk, the tracker shows how the cat follows its human and the family dog the whole time.

Halloween is typically when people wear costumes, but dressing up as someone or something else year-round can be a creative exercise. Just ask Anucha Saengchart, aka Lonelyman. The content creator routinely shares his funny costume ideas on Instagram. Every single pop culture character is game, but there is one unifying thread—they are all low-cost costumes, cleverly executed by whatever he has on hand. Despite the limited budget, it's really amusing to see him nail every single one.

Rather than sharing a detailed video tutorial, Saengchart shares the elaboration process for his costumes in his now-signature four-panel format. Most of the time, you wouldn't guess where his plans will lead to from the first panel, but once you see it all unravel, you'll be surprised by how he can turn household items into completely unexpected props.

Recently, the thrifty cosplayer turned into Aemond Targaryen from House of the Dragon, and it all began with him cooking some noodles. After some quick thinking, the noodles became Aemond's long white hair, and the black ladle served as the eye patch he now wears after Lucerys Velaryon slashed his face with a dagger.

Saengchart's playful imagination also propels him to turn into non-human characters, like Doge, a few Pokémon, and even a KFC chicken thigh. Sometimes, he also recruits his pet cats to join him on his costume mission, which has seen them transformed into Studio Ghibli characters and the Eye of Sauron.

It's a highly relatable situation; there's a commitment we can't miss but for whatever reason, we simply cannot make it. This happened to actor and comedian Hannibal Buress, whose film credits include Spiderman: Homecoming and Spiderman: No Way Home, where he plays Coach Wilson. When he couldn't attend the premiere of the first movie, Buress got creative and found a way to be there…sort of. He hired someone to go in his place.

In a series of now-deleted tweets, Buress wrote that he needed “a lookalike with solid comedic timing for an event tonight.” To sweeten the deal, the actor offered compensation of $500. Despite the short notice, Buress' request was answered by Joe Carroll, an LA-based author, screenwriter, director, and actor. While he doesn't really look like Buress, Carroll got the job.

“When @hannibalburess hits you up and tells you to crash the red carpet since he couldn't make it…. You crash the damn red carpet,” Carroll wrote on Instagram. And crash the red carpet he did. Not only did he confidently pose for selfies with fans, he also answered questions from reporters and was even introduced as Buress by the premiere's official emcee.

Carroll, who wore sunglasses to help conceal his identity, later shared some selfies from the event. Meanwhile, Buress has deleted all mention of his request from his social media, including a tweet where he sarcastically seems to acknowledge the stunt. Overall, it was a success, as no one seemed to notice during the event.

Luckily for the impostor, this was far from his only Hollywood event. Carroll recently shared that he directed his second feature film, Fighting to be Me: The Dwen Curry story, which will soon air on BET. As for Buress, he is in a stand-up comedy tour across the country.

For years James Fridman has been using his Photoshop skills to help people by “fixing” their photos. But Fridman's work isn't what you imagine. By interpreting their requests literally, his results will have you laughing out loud. The ultimate Photoshop “troll,” Fridman now has requests pouring in from people who can't wait to see what he'll come up with.

While the end result isn't always what the person probably imagined when they asked for help, Fridman's interpretations are fascinating. Done in jest, they playfully poke fun at the requests without going overboard. And, as everyone knows what to expect by now, surely the owner of the photo also gets a good laugh.

Fridman's work is so popular that it has netted him millions of fans across social media platforms. In 2021, he even published a book. The Joy of Photoshop: When You Ask the Wrong Guy For Help is filled with his best work and previously unseen images. Since the time of publication, Fridman has continued to bring joy to his fans by posting new Photoshop “fixes.”

One of the most heartwarming aspects of Fridman's work is his responses to certain requests. He's often asked to “fix” the requester's appearance, but if that request concerns weight or another insecurity, Fridman doesn't do what you might think. Rather than use his Photoshop skills, he uses his heart to write a kind response, letting them know that they should embrace themselves for who they are.

Reading this type of response, it's clear why Fridman's work is so popular—he's funny without being malicious and has his heart in the right place. Quitting a job is often an awkward experience. But, it turns out, the whole experience can benefit from a little song and dance. Just ask a man named Phil Sipka. The Chicagoan wanted to quit his job at a coffee shop to open his own spot. To make delivering the news easier, he got help from The Steve Harvey Show, which fixed him up with the a quintet known as The Voices. Together, they delivered a notice for the ages.

The video, which originally aired in 2012, sees Sipka—dressed in a dapper suit and tie—walk in to Robust Coffee Lounge alongside his musical entourage. His bosses, Jake and Derek, are taken aback when Sipka says he's got an announcement to make, but they also look excited at the sight of the group. To their surprise, Sipka announces that he is quitting! The onlooking customers are delighted by the drama and the free show they are getting with their coffee. By the end, Jake and Derek can't help but smile and clap, too.

After this elaborate resignation performance, Sipka made his dream of opening his own coffee shop a reality. Fast forward to over a decade later, and it's still thriving. Kusanya Cafe, in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. But this isn't an ordinary coffee shop. Working as a non-profit, Kusanya hosts community and arts events, and it also offers job training and apprenticeship. “We exist to provide the place where great people can come together over great food, and community-born events can take place,” the company states.

Meanwhile, Sipka continues to be heavily involved with Kusanya Cafe's philanthropic mission—and showing his singing abilities when they host karaoke nights. “We exist for the casual interactions among neighbors, the chance meetings, and the collaboration that happens organically when people are together,” says the team. If you're ever in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, you can find them 825 West 69th St.

Gender reveals have quickly become one of the main events ahead the birth of a baby for some people. The premise is simple. A prop, most commonly a cake or a confetti popper—though sometimes even a plane or an entire building—unveils its pink or blue contents to give away the gender of a child. Sometimes it’s just for  the parents-to-be; other times the audience includes extended family and friends. As such, expecting couples have gotten increasingly creative with their gender reveals. For one couple, Grace Smith and Brandon Schoen, announcing the gender of their second baby included a backyard wrestling match.

The fight featured social media stars John Ferguson and Jimbo Hawkins in a blue traditional wrestling singlet and a pair of pink shorts, respectively. Hawkins also sported some pink dye in his hair and beard. The difference in complexions seems to tilt the scale. While Hawkins is tall and broad, Ferguson is a man with dwarfism. Still, like in many entertaining wrestling matches, they rely on wild props and stunts, including glass bottles and hitting each other with a chair to defeat their opponent.

As captured in an entertaining video, the match takes many dramatic turns. Just when the fight seems to be over, they each come back from being knocked out until one doesn't—eliciting cheers from their backyard audience while the victor pops a confetti canon.

The wrestling gender reveal was the brain child of content creator Ross Smith, who happens to be the brother of the pregnant mom. He also played the role of the referee—meaning he was ready to raise the hand of the victor once the struggle was over.

Long before this gender reveal wrestling match, Smith became an internet sensation alongside his grandma, who is known as Gangster Granny. Together, they film wacky videos that ultimately show the deep love between them. Smith's grandmother was also at the gender reveal, ready to give her grandson a high five for such great work.

But this time the content creator devised a whole wrestling match event to help reveal the gender of his sister's baby.
